Author events return to Terroux this winter
Saturday 17 June at 12 noon
In aid of BigHart All of us project.
Join us for a literary lunch with popular Canberra author and publisher Samantha Tidy as we discuss her new edition of The Happiness Jar (Storytorch Press, 2023).
First published 10 years ago, this novel remains fresh and relevant with its themes of faith and redemption. It’s a carpe diem story set in the remote Kimberleys in West Australia, bustling Varanasi on the Ganges in India and in urban Australia. The plight of Vietnam veterans, issues of terminal hereditary disease and fractured family are all part of this story, which still manages to feel hopeful and full of light.
Barbie Robinson will sit in the other chair for a lively book chat with Sam. You are warmly invited to then participate actively in the continuing book discussion.
A warming vegetarian soup and crusty bread lunch will be served along with delicious home cooked Terroux country style desserts. Dietary needs can be accommodated. Please advise when booking.
Copies of the book will be available for a special event price of $28. Sam is happy to sign your copy.
- Proceeds from the lunch event will go to the BigHart All of us project.
