Artist Irina Bastrakova invites you to join her, editors/publishers Barbara Baikie OAM and Barbie Robinson along with a number of the women writers whose stories are published in this book for an informal book gathering and afternoon tea.

Write around the World is an independently published collection of memoirs by 25 women from diverse cultures and countries including First Nations women, non-Indigenous women who were born in Australia and others who have come to live here by choice or circumstance.

(Published jointly by Barbara Baikie and Associates and Writing with Light in May 2025; printed locally by Brindabella Print).

Its aim is to promote respect, knowledge and celebration of the heritage and cultural diversity of its authors, and their many and varied countries of birth. It focuses on the similarities we share as human beings rather than the differences that can divide people.

The book is available for purchase at the Strathnairn artist-run shop for $35.

Our locally printed Farrer Workshop linen tea towels will also be available on the day of the event for $30. Book and tea towel10% discount for Strathnairn members.

Tickets $8 per person, which contributes to the cost of the afternoon tea.
